Have you considered how switching to cloth diaper empowers entrepreneurs and makes your life easier and more secure?
Cloth diapering is so much more than what you think it is, and I can’t wait to share with you a few more reasons to consider cloth diapering. These are a few unusual reasons to consider cloth. Most often, advocates recommend cloth diapers for their environmental benefits and cost savings. But cloth diapering is so much more than that. It’s a modern-day solution to an everyday problem of needing to keep our babies healthy and clean.
Cloth diapers might feel like a relic of the past but trust me, they are not. In 2021, cloth diapering has never been more modern with snaps, fasteners, and simple wash routines, that not only make baby the most fashionable, but also the happiest.
Cloth Diapers Support Small Businesses
Even the biggest cloth diaper brand is still a small business with under 50 employees. Cloth diaper brands, and cloth diaper retailers (often small baby boutiques) are the creative endeavors of passionate men and women wanting to support other families to find a more effective way of diapering.
Small businesses are more likely to donate locally, volunteer locally, and be resources and advocates for the things that matter most. Cloth diaper small businesses are no exceptions. Cloth Diaper Brands like Petite Crown, Lil Helper, and Bebeboo continually find ways to give back through donations to Diaper Banks and non-profits.
This is all better for our communities and helps fuel the passion of creative entrepreneurs around the world. When you buy from a cloth diaper brand or business, you’re empowering another woman or man to continue to find better ways of operating and managing their business. This means we see improvements in design, manufacturing, and community support.
Sometimes Less Work than Disposables
Yes, if you find that diaper and system that works for you cloth diapering because an automated system in your life that is more carefree and relaxed than searching for a trash can and praying that you don’t get a blow-out.
We get it, not everyone has access to washing facilities. And that’s okay, maybe cloth diapers won't be the easy solution for that family. For families with washing machines, cloth diapering is just another load of laundry and a few fewer trips to the trash can. If you pay for trash removal, it might help you save a few dollars every month.
With a growing industry of diaper services, those with extra financial resources can pay to have diapers picked up and laundered every week. Diaper services are coming back and they offer an incredibly easy service to families.
Financial Security and Accessibility
Remember when the world shut down for a few weeks? Grocery stores were cleared out, hours were limited, and lineups lasted forever? Cloth diaper parents had one less thing to worry about – even if you can’t get to the store in time, you always have diapers on hand.
Cloth diapering offers families a sense of financial security and accessibility that is hard to put into words. You don’t have to worry about having enough diapers to last the month, or if you’ll get to the store in time. There’s no panic when you get snowed in or if you’re between jobs. Washable diapers are always there for you. Cloth diaper families always find something creative to swaddle into a diaper for the time between washes.
Cloth diapering means always having a clean diaper available, and, in a pinch, they can be hand-washed and ready.
Cloth Diapering is Not All or Nothing.
You can love all these unusual reasons for cloth diapering and still use disposable diapers. The cloth diaper community is working harder than ever to defeat the myths of cloth diapers and encourage our spaces to be more inclusive and diverse.
We want you to use cloth diapers in a way that works for you. If that means you only use cloth diapers on weekends, and disposable diapers at daycare, that’s amazing. That’s 16 fewer diapers in the landfill per week and a cost savings of over $500 on disposable diapers.
Consider cloth diapers for the security they bring, the ease of use, and the benefits they can have for our communities. Now more than ever we need to come together and be creative and innovative as we find modern solutions for the day-to-day.
