A Mother’s Day Post
As we are a month away from Mother’s Day, I wanted to take the time to think about the reasons being a mom is what I love.

I have three wonderful kids. I became a mom eleven years ago. Before I was a mom, I was a preschool teacher. Being a preschool teacher can help you decide if you like children very quickly! I truly loved kids. It was no picnic, but there was nothing more I wanted to do than to help mold and support young minds.
It is hard to take a minute while you're in a the hustle and bustle of day to day, to think about why you're doing this job called mom.
Today it is 80 degrees in April, in Pennsylvania. Mother's Day is a month away. As I sit here, I am reminded of why I wanted to be a mom. I am at a horse farm watching my middle son ride for his weekly lesson. The birds are chirping, and hills are rolling, and the sun is shining. My son picked this hobby, and at the time I didn't quite realize what a beautiful past time it is. I had a nice childhood, but watching him ride this horse on this particular day, is a thing of dreams. I am grateful for this.
My oldest son begged to play the cello. I don't know a ton of 11 year old boys that would purse that on their own. When I see him read those cello notes, and perform for school, I am full of joy. He has a talent, but more importantly he has a love of playing. It was his choice, and he works hard to do his best. He never wants to miss a lesson, and he is as talented as he is determined. I am grateful for this.
My daughter is the baby of the family. She asked to do gymnastics. I take her to her weekly lesson. She goes in, and lights up. I have so much pride when she flips around those bars, and walks on that beam. She is light on her feet, and in her heart. I am grateful for this.
Sometimes, when I am driving my kids to school, or activities, I am lost in the routine. As I sit here with the Spring breeze in my hair, I can honestly say taking a minute for gratitude is the key to happiness. I am grateful for this. I am a grateful to be a mom. There's nothing like it.
