Marriage is not for the faint of heart. The good times in a marriage make you feel invincible, like you're the luckiest person in the world, and there's nothing that can keep you two from taking over the world.
And then there are the other times.
Let's just say that I have heard multiple couples (independent of each other) mutually joke that they have a "Divorce: Never. Murder: Maybe." policy in their marriage.
That said, it's necessary to have a place you trust to look for marriage advice, ways to feel closer to your spouse, ideas for date nights, and strategies for handling marital issues.
This is a list of the absolute best 13 blogs about marriage. The first section is full of blogs that solely deal with the topic of marriage. Pretty much whatever issue you're having, they've got help for you ready and waiting. The second section is filled with blogs that cover marriage alongside the range of other hurdles in life (mainly the little mini-demons marriage has been known to create). These blogs will help you balance marriage with kids, family, work, and all the other hurdles life throws at you.
The Best Blogs About Marriage
Marriage 365
Helping Couples Create Connection
This blog is an incredible wealth of resources. Marriage365 is actually a nonprofit organization. They have an absolutely wonderful blog that covers every marital subject you can think of, from date ideas and holiday traditions for couples, to how to deal with arguments, things you usually have to go to a therapist to learn, and how to deal with big marriage issues like infidelity or arguments. However, this site goes beyond “just a blog” and offers a range of marital tools, with awesome online classes, a huge library of premium content, and even marital or individual coaching via Skype or FaceTime. Make sure you have time for a binge of epic proportions when you click the link, because you won’t want to stop reading this one.

Fulfilling Your Vows
Helping Couples Connect with God and Each Other
This blog is 100% the real deal. Carlie and Mike, the co-writers of this faith-based marriage blog, were college sweethearts but have now been married for almost two decades. In that time, they both became Certified Marriage Mentors®, Certified Professional Life Coaches, and experts in pretty much every marriage topic under the sun. They’ve co-authored several books, created amazing marriage courses, and founded the “Welcome to the Family Table” movement, which (among other things) deals with the ever-growing abundance of cell phones at the dinner table.
All these crazy impressive credentials aside, the most wonderful part of this blog really is the real, compassionate, and balanced tone that’s the centerpiece of all of the articles. Every subject they touch is handled with such finesse that you really do feel like you’re receiving advice from a good friend in a coffee shop, not a stranger on the internet. This one really is too wonderful to miss.

Real Wife Lessons
Helping Moms Juggle the Struggle of #Marriage and #Motherhood
If the title of this blog alone doesn’t make you laugh then I might not be able to help you. Meredith (who is technically Dr. Meredith, due to being a licensed relationship psychologist and all…) gives a wonderful, laid-back, yet technically on point lens not only on the primary issues of marriage, but also on all the external factors that can make marriage so much more complicated, including kids, in-laws, football season...you name it, she’s covered it. And (as if all that isn’t enough) the site also comes with a ridiculously useful free resource library, so you can printable PDF your way to marital bliss. Make sure you clear your schedule before you click into this one, because you’re sure to spend at least a few hours for binge reading.

Love Hope Adventure
Like-Minded Couples Discussing Marriage, Communication, & Intimacy
This blog is hard to describe because it has a singular focus on marriage, but it simultaneously covers more topics than you could possibly imagine. Seriously, Keelie covers date and gift ideas, heart-warming serious posts on marriage, cheeky and blush-worthy posts on marital intimacy, DIY marriage crafts (because that’s apparently a thing), and seriously dozens of other categories I would never have even thought of (but now read obsessively). Definitely check this site out because it quite literally has something for everyone.

The Best Family Blogs that Discuss Marriage
Lightly Frayed
Parenting with Hope and Humour...Most Days
I might secretly want Karen (the author of this blog) to be my new best friend. If I got an extra minute of sleep for each time this blog made me laugh...I might actually be well rested enough to get through the day without accidentally referring to the toddler by the dog’s name. (Sorry Dexter...I mean Natalie.) Seriously though, with article titles ranging from “Confessions of a Plant Killing Wife” to “Marriage: Where Mopping is the New Sexy”, this blog takes a light-hearted yet incredibly relatable approach to marriage issues, both big and small. Also of note: this blog won the coveted badge of making me snort-laugh and actually tear up in the same post. (I don’t know whether to give the author a high five or throw an e-drink in her face for that emotional rollercoaster.) This is seriously a blog to bookmark, subscribe, and read over and over.

My Sweet Home Life
Homemaking, Living Well, and Relationships
This visually lovely blog is the web-design equivalent of the first sip of hot cocoa, it makes you breathe a little bit easier just by logging on. While the blog in general is geared towards helping people live a more intentional, satisfied, and joyful life, a huge section is dedicated to relationships and marriage advice. She has a wealth of information on creative date nights (which literally made me want to grab a pencil and take notes), but covers a wide variety of other topics from traditions, to communication, to *cough, cough* bedroom stuff. I’d highly recommend this one to anyone who wants a down-to-earth and well-rounded view on relationships.

Home A La Mama
Empowering Moms to Create Christ-Centered Homes
This one was really time consuming for me to review because every time I went on the site to evaluate it I kept getting sucked in and reading the articles. Seriously. It was a problem. However, if that problem was any indication of the relevance of the content to what married people actually want to read, I’d give this one a solid five stars. This blog covers a multitude of subjects other than marriage (mostly faith, parenting, and other family issues), but I had to include it in this list of awesome marriage blogs because the marriage section was written with such a real and relatable tone that gives a no-holds-barred account of what marriage is actually like. Definitely give this one a read but not anywhere near a sleeping child, because your laughter can and will wake them up. (Oops.)

Making It Home
Return to Tradition and Live a Life Less Complicated
From the first time you log on to this site you can tell it’s going to be unique. It is co-written by a married couple who, together, furnish the blog’s three main sections (“his”, “hers”, and “ours”). From this amazingly simple premise, they give a fresh and faith-based perspective on a traditional home and marital issues, from both sides of the table. This blog is also unique in that Aaron and Barb (the authors) have already been married for more than two decades, so they bring a wealth of personal experience to the topics they address.

Living Our Priorities
Priority Living, Faith, Relationships, Home, & Finances
In another blog co-authored by a married couple, Timberley and Andre present an incredibly moving, faith-based view on marriage, blended families, and overcoming life’s challenges. The thing I loved most about this blog is that, with every post I read, you could tell that every piece of advice, wisdom, or information was borne from real life experience. These two don’t just offer tips because they read about them somewhere, they’ve been in your exact situation and have discovered the way out. A real, heartfelt gem of a blog not to be missed!

Graceful Abandon
Grace-Filled Faith, Family, and Home
I’m not quite sure what it is about the aesthetics of this site, but something about me immediately relaxed the second the page loaded. (Definitely on my “soothing web design” happy list.) Then, as soon as I was done letting out the deep breath I didn’t realize I had been holding, I actually got around to reading the equally-amazing content. While the marriage section is only a small portion of the content covered here (seriously, everything from bible study and home organization to parenting and homeschooling), Lisa gives a relatable, practical eye for how to navigate a marriage.

Truly Devoted to Him
Devotion to the Maker and the Mr.
After reading so many marriage blogs, I was pleasantly surprised by the crazy unique and useful topics covered here. Usually most blogs have surprisingly similar types of articles. After all, how many novel parts of marriage can there be, right? Wrong! This one has things like how to deal with it when your partner is stressed or quick text messages to send your spouse when you’re apart during the day. I could go on and on, but I’ll just stick to the basic claim that this blog has some of the best and most unique marriage content out there. Definitely on my don’t miss list!

Home Faith Family
Living Simply without Losing Quality or Sanity
I honestly didn’t even need to read further than the tag line to fall in love with this blog. However, even without our mutual commitment to keeping people sane, I would still be a raving fan for the peaceful little e-haven Micah has created. This blog tackles big issues like anxiety, dealing with a spouse losing their job, and family planning, but it also has a wonderful, light-hearted side that discusses how to take a couples road trip and fun joint Halloween costumes. This one is for anyone who wants the internet equivalent of sitting on a comfy sofa with a warm drink and a good girlfriend.

Fishbowl Family
Pastoring & Parenting in the Public Eye
The thing that really drew me to this faith-based blog was how solid, down to earth, and relatable Halee’s tone is. While the marriage section is only a small portion of the blog (the subjects actually ministry, culture, finance, and family as well), I still loved the way this pastor’s wife and mamma of four describes life as a Christian wife in the social media age (enter the fishbowl). Some of her blogs made me think, others made me laugh, but others, especially the ones about balancing marriage with parenting, had me nodding along and muttering “I know, right?” under my breath. I loved this blog and highly recommend you take a peek through the fishbowl as well.

Liz (or Dr. Mommy, as her toddler started calling her after learning what a PhD was) is the happily sleep-deprived mom of a toddler (and professional raccoon noise impersonator), a sparkle-clad kidnado, a teenage stepdaughter, 200 cumulative pounds of dog, and herd of dustbunnies (if daily vacuuming doesn't occur). During nights and naptimes, she uses her PhD in business psychology as an author, speaker, and consultant. She also serves as an executive and principal for three companies, two of which she co-founded with her very patient (and equally exhausted) husband.
